Yes. We're raising farm-fresh shrimp right here at Pheasant Run Farm.
Do you grow everything you sell?
We grow many of the flowers and food products available at the farm, and we also partner with farmers, makers, and producers we know personally and trust.

Pheasant Run Farm is located in Belle Plaine, Iowa, at the junction of Highway 30 and V40/13th Avenue.
Sunflower Experience
When are the sunflowers in bloom?
Exact dates will be announced. Mother Nature calls the shots. The sunflowers typically bloom in mid-July, early and mid-August, and early September.
What can we do during the Sunflower Experience?
Paths are mown into the sunflowers so you can wander through them at your leisure and enjoy their beauty. You'll also find photo opportunities, elevated viewing platforms, a cutting garden, and kid-friendly activities including the Sunflower Forest and Corn Box.
What should I wear?
Sturdy walking shoes, this is a field after all, and comfortable clothing appropriate for being out in the sun.
What should I bring?
Bring your camera, sunscreen, water, and a folding chair if you think you'll want to sit for a while. Food and drinks will be available in the market.
Can I cut flowers during my visit?
Yes. You may cut additional sunflower stems or blooms from the cutting garden for an additional charge. Clippers are provided, but you're welcome to bring your favorite pair.
Are food and drinks available?
We have snacks and drinks available in our market, along with farm-fresh produce and other farm products.
Are restrooms available?
Yes. Restrooms are available in the market. Porta-potties and hand-washing stations are also available in the field.
How much walking is involved?
Terrain is gently rolling. You will need to walk from the parking area and may walk over a mile if you explore all the paths. While pathways are maintained, this is still a field and terrain will not be like walking on a sidewalk.
Is the Sunflower Experience accessible?
We have reserved parking close to the entrance and a golf cart available to help transport guests with mobility challenges into the center area of the sunflowers. Some walking is still required, and stairs must be climbed to access the viewing platform.
Are dogs allowed?
We love dogs. Dogs must be leashed, well-behaved, and cleaned up after. If a dog is interfering with other visitors' enjoyment, you may be asked to remove them. Dogs are welcome on the farm, but not in the market.
Cutting Garden
What is the Cutting Garden?
The Cutting Garden gives visitors the opportunity to create their own bouquet from start to finish while spending time among the flowers.
What is included?
We'll supply a cutting cup and clippers. The cutting cup typically holds approximately 25 to 35 blooms.
When is the Cutting Garden open?
Opening dates vary throughout the season. Guests can also schedule private sessions by appointment.
What should I bring?
Bring your camera. If you have a favorite pair of clippers, you're welcome to bring them.
Are dogs allowed in the Cutting Garden?
Yes. Dogs must be leashed, well-behaved, and cleaned up after.
Photography
Can I take photos at the farm?
Absolutely. The farm offers many opportunities to capture memories among the flowers.
Can professional photographers use the farm?
Yes. We welcome both professional and amateur photographers.
Are there rules for photography sessions?
Everyone must pay admission and walk into the field. Photographers must be patient with other visitors and may not reserve or monopolize areas of the farm for extended periods.
