Location:
7306 13th Avenue, Belle Plaine, Iowa
Our address is just “Avenue”—
don’t let your GPS auto-correct to “Avenue Drive”
We are on the SE corner of Hwy 30 and V40/13th Avenue in Benton County —if you are coming from Cedar Rapids, you’ll turn left onto V40/13th Avenue. If you’re coming from central Iowa, you’ll turn right. You’ll see the flower field and a large grassy area for parking.
What to Wear: Sturdy walking shoes—this is a field, after all!—and comfortable clothing appropriate for being outdoors.
What to bring: Your camera! If you have a favorite pair of clippers, bring them—if not, we’ll supply them.
No alcoholic beverages or smoking.
Facilities: Restrooms and a handwashing stations will be available on site.
Dogs: We love dogs! If they are visiting with you, they need to be leashed, well behaved, and you will need to clean up after them. If your dog is interfering with the other visitors’ enjoyment of the cutting garden, we may ask you to remove them.
Photographers:
We encourage both professional and amateur photographers to come out and take advantage of our beautiful setting in a manner that allows everyone to enjoy the sunflowers.
Everyone pays the $7 entry fee, except tots 3 years and younger.
Everyone must walk into the field—keep that in mind as you plan props that you would like to use.
You must be patient with other visitors as they enjoy the dahlias—you cannot commandeer a section, area, or piece of equipment for extended periods of time.
Tag our farm—#SunflowerExperienceIowa#PRFIowa—on any photos you post on social media. Consider it your "tax" for using our farm to grow your business. :-)
Outside of the Dahlia Days regular hours, professional photographers can make an appointment to use our dahlia and cutting garden for photo shoots. Cost is $50 for the first hour and $25 an hour for additional hours.
